It is important to tell your child’s doctor about any side effects as soon as they happen. This will allow your doctor to possibly change the dose or type of medicine your child is taking.
Below is a chart with some common minor side effects and what you can do to relieve them:

| Gets a sore or scratchy throat from the medicines that he or she breathes. | Have your child rinse his or her mouth out after using the pump. A spacer may help too. |
| Feels sick or feels like vomiting after taking medicine that he or she swallows. | Try giving your child some milk or food with the medicine. If this doesn’t help, contact your child’s doctor. |
| Feels tired, jumpy or thirsty after taking his or her medicines. | Talk to your doctor about your child’s medication. This is a normal side effect, but your doctor may change your child’s dose depending on your child’s asthma. |
| Gets swollen fingers or a puffy face. | Call your doctor immediately and if you are not able to reach them call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room. |
